MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO), today
announced the following organizational changes effective immediately. Veteran
retail executive Jim Shea has been hired to the position of Executive Vice
President, Merchandising and Marketing. Most recently, Jim was the Chief
Executive Officer of Party City. Previous to Party City, Mr. Shea held senior
level positions with companies such as Lechter's Housewares, Kaufmann's
Department Stores, Lechmere, Eddie Bauer, and Dayton Hudson. Mr. Shea started
his career with General Mills after attaining his undergraduate degree from
Iona College and his graduate degree from The Wharton School, University of
Pennsylvania.
The Company also announced that Mike Archbold, currently SVP, Chief
Financial Officer will become Executive Vice President, Chief Financial
Officer. Mike Longo, currently SVP, Growth Initiatives will become Executive
Vice President, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Store Development and
Mexico. Bill Rhodes, currently SVP, Supply Chain and Information Technology
will become Executive Vice President, Store Operations and Commercial.

management will strengthen the AutoZone team as we focus on reinvigorating
profitable growth," said Steve Odland, Chairman, President and CEO.
These four Executive Vice Presidents will report directly to Mr. Odland.
Additionally, Harry Goldsmith, SVP, General Counsel and Secretary, and Daisy
Vanderlinde, SVP, Human Resources and Loss Prevention will continue to report
to Mr. Odland.
